Landauer to compete in CBS’ Survivor, Klein ’13 aspires to follow her example
CBS got a lot of flack for “Elementary” every step of the way — for ripping off “Sherlock,” the BBC’s modern retelling of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories, for making Watson a woman, for moving the story to New York instead of London — all before the show even aired. Last week, the pilot finally made its way to television with the general consensus already stacked against it.
While NBC responded with a primetime spot for Jay Leno, the triumphant victors of this season were the irreverent comedies.
In honor of its 10-year anniversary, this season of “Survivor” was destined to be one of the best, as producers brought back all of our favorite, and not-so-favorite, contestants for a second (and sometimes third) chance to battle it out for the million-dollar grand prize.
By definition, “Upfronts” week is when the major networks–ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS (whose new shows unfortunately will be announced after my deadline)–congregate to sell advertisers on their new fall shows with lots of four-minute clips.
