In a wild conclusion to the regular season on Saturday, Arizona (32-24, 9-15 Pac-12) defeated No. 13 Stanford softball (37-19, 13-11 Pac-12) 4-3 in nine innings of play to clinch the series victory. The Wildcats also won 5-3 in Thursday’s contest while the Cardinal came out on top 2-0 on Friday. The victory marked the second straight Pac-12 series taken by the Wildcats, who also defeated No. 5 Arizona State (45-10, 16-8 Pac-12) in the prior series. Stanford had previously swept its last two Pac-12 opponents before losing this series.
No. 15 Stanford softball certainly wasn’t expecting a loss on Wednesday night when it played host to Saint Mary’s, a team that had a 2-9 road record coming into the contest.
No. 15 Stanford will face Saint Mary’s at the Smith Family Stadium on campus tonight. The Card is on a run of good form, lead by senior Jenna Rich and Sophomore Cassandra Roulund
Stanford’s batting duo of Jenna Rich and Cassandra Rouland led the team to a 7-1 win over San Jose State on Wednesday, with Rich hitting two home runs and scoring three in total.

After taking four of its six games at the Kajikawa Classic this past weekend, the Stanford softball team looks to secure its first home victory of the 2013 campaign against Santa Clara tonight.
