Very despairing info for those of us in the industry. But, accuracy will always be important: To that end, please correct your cutline info in the photo accompany the story -- you've mixed up Bill Keller and Harry Chandler, and Marissa Mayer is VP of Google, not "Googles."

The newspaper industry gives away all its content free online, before it's released in the print edition, and then is stunned that people stop paying for newspapers. The newspaper industry is simply competing against itself, and losing...
