Women’s Swimming & Diving
The No. 1 Cardinal women’s swimming team (10-0) has torn through its dual-meet season, beating all but two of its opponents by margins greater than 30 points. Heading into this week’s Pac-12 Championships, Stanford knows that the conference meet provides a different challenge in settings both more formal and more competitive than those of the duals. However, an experienced Cardinal squad enters the competition prepared to defend its 2013 title.
This year, it was the No. 4 Cardinal (10-0, 7-0 Pac-12) that raced through its dual meet schedule in a way that No. 1 Cal (7-2, 5-2 Pac-12) could not, as Stanford capped off a perfect dual-meet season with a sinking of its cross-bay rivals, 167-133, on Saturday morning in front of a packed Avery Aquatic Center on an emotional Senior Day.
The No. 4 Cardinal women’s swimming team (7-0, 4-0 Pac-12) will journey into the television spotlight on Friday as it travels south to No. 16 UCLA for a meet that will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
