Former Georgetown track and field associate head coach Chris Miltenberg will be the new Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track & Field and Stanford cross-country head coach, officially announced by Stanford athletic director Bernard Muir on Monday.
PattiSue Plumer ‘85 J.D. ‘89 isn’t just the associate cross country coach and assistant track and field coach; she’s one of the most accomplished long-distance runners in Stanford history.
Chris Derrick has had a good run so far. The 2012 graduate received a degree in economics with a focus in law and has become one of the most decorated distance runners in Stanford history. But it wasn’t always that way. Until high school, Derrick played basketball and baseball but found that his lack of ability left him at a dead end.
Edrick Floreal resigned as the Stanford Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field this past Monday to take over as the head coach of the University of Kentucky men’s and women’s cross-country and track and field teams.
Five individual titles highlighted a successful trip to the Pac-12 Championships for the Stanford track and field teams. The women placed second while the men tied for fifth, as host Oregon swept both titles.
